An ordinary life....

Pink pom poms...

Little pink pom poms hiding against the garden wall in a little forgotten corner of the garden.  Their beautiful colour caught my attention today.  Must catch those little petals with the macro lens before they're gone.

Some of you may remember we started a refurb of our ensuite  way back in December 2019 that was supposed to take 2 weeks but took until February 2020 to be completed.

Well when I say completed, there is one glaring omission.  If you look at the second pic can you see what it is?    Yes, the radiator under the window is missing.  Well it still is.

The reason it wasn't fitted at the time was our fault, as we changed our mind about which radiator we wanted and ended up choosing one that had to be made to order so had a six week wait.  Then lockdown happened and that was that.  We just had to wait till that was over.  Thankfully we have a heated towel rail and as we were heading for spring / summer it didn't matter quite so much.

Fast forward to the end of lockdown and we gave the company two weeks to see if they would get in touch about coming to fit the radiator.  Nope.  Then coincidentally, just as we were about to contact them, David bumped into the owner when out shopping and reminded him about it. "Not a problem," he said, "Give me two weeks."

Can you guess what happened after 2 weeks?  Yes.  Absolutely nothing.  Seven weeks later and despite emails, texts and phone messages, not a peep!  Now we are back into lockdown again!

Thankfully tradespeople are still allowed to come in and they are definitely working as D passed their van this afternoon.  A visit to the showroom in person coming up.

Thank you for the reminders to count my blessings yesterday.  Three friends of ours, all separate from each other,  have each had to deal with very terrible news over the course of today.

I have counted my blessings twice.
