Hello to October. Autumnal in the garden.

I went out for my walk earlier today.
This afternoon I will be meeting my friend Bobbie as usual. Her speech was much better last time we were at the Garden Centre Café.
The staff are very helpful and encourage her.
The problem today will be that under the latest directives you have to wear your mask when going to the counter to order.
(Obviously not when you are seated at your table.)
This will make it impossible for her to attempt to say the words for our normal cappuccinos and cake.
She needs to watch how they articulate them back to her.
But if this is the way to keep us safer, then this is what we have to do.
Yesterday afternoon was spent with Blipper Rainette for a coffee at the local Farm Café. Lots of conversation and catch up with news of this and that, which made a chilly very wet middle of the day very enjoyable.
I loved the sparkly light this morning after yesterday's rain left drops on bushes and hedges, also on grass verges and our lawn, which glittered like diamonds earlier, as I walked on by.
Not much wind, and autumn dampness in the air.
On nearing home, I could hear the class of nursery children across at the school playing outside and having a good time.
Made me smile.
Inspite of all the restrictions, "bubbles" and hand washing amongst other things, they sounded  happy and bright.
There is so much out there with which we take issue, and so much with which we have to cope, it’s good to be reminded enjoyment can be found in simple things, like  children's laughter. sparkling raindrops, and the smell of autumn.
