Steam’s up!

Back in the summer Eda went on a steam train on the Avon Valley Railway. She was promised she would come again to bring baby ‘purple’ (Jude) and granny. So today was the day.

The engine, ‘Sapper’ (made at Hunslet Engineering works in Leeds) had to be moved from end to end twice during the short journey and made lots of steam. So we got off to watch. I think the wet conditions make the steam even better. Eda loved it and called the engine Emily.

Jude was oblivious to most of it as she was later in the afternoon when we built a train track. The track goes around Elsa’s Ice Palace and through a whole area of dinosaurs!

Jude is doing really well and sleeping nearly all night in the Moses basket. Nothing unusual there maybe but Eda didn’t as she was always regurgitating her milk and had to be held until asleep. At an even earlier stage than Jude is now she was always in a bib in all her photographs in case she was sick. None needed for Jude yet, hope it stays that way.

I can smell a wonderful roast dinner. It’s like spending the weekend at a gourmet hotel. Yesterday smoked salmon and scrambled egg bagels for brunch and breakfast today was blueberry and banana pancakes. Yum! What treats.
