Green Tomatoe Chutney

Nothing should go to 
waste, certainly not my green
tomatoes! Yum! Yum!

I had just enough green tomatoes  to make a batch of chutney. It took several hours of simmering to bring it to the right colour and consistency. The aroma filled my house. The pot poured out into six 1 1/2 cup containers. I saved one for the refrigerator and put the others in the freezer. 

My lunch today was cheddar and chutney on rye crisp. Fabulous! Tonight we'll try the chutney on a beef roast. I'm am sure we will not be disappointed.
