NATURES COLOURS

Had a lazy morning just watching TV and wrapping birthday presents.  Its Neils girlfriend Rachael's birthday at the weekend and as I was meeting Neil this afternoon it was a good chance to pass them over.

We met at Wetherspoons in the village for a late lunch.  Neil was hungry so he had two meals - chicken burger and chips and a chicken BBQ panini  and chips. I had grilled chicken and salad.  ( Its Slimming World weigh in tomorrow so I had to be careful ) The food in Wetherspoons is reasonably priced and our meals were £4.99 each including a soft drink.  It was nice to have a catch up with Neil.  The place was very quiet - we thought it would be on a Wednesday afternoon.

Neil is on holiday for a fortnight and he and Rachael were due to fly to Northern Ireland at the weekend to visit her Mam and Dad.  They decided yesterday to cancel the trip.  Even though travel to NI is allowed it just didn't seem safe having to spend time in airports, be on planes, get shuttle buses once they were in Ireland... and the situation there seems very bad at the moment with Covid cases really high.  Its disappointing but its best to try and stay safe.  I guess Neil will spend his holiday running instead.  His latest challenge is to run the height of Everest - a bit at a time.  It involves running up hills to get the correct elevation.  ( Running back down the hill doesn't count ) Luckily there are plenty of hills around here.

After our meal we went our separate ways and I headed for the park as I wanted a shot for the Wide Wednesday challenge.  The theme today set by BobsBlips is " Natures Colours ".  My blip shows a little used corner of the park. The red leaves on the trees caught my eye.
