Frit-tada!

I’ve been wanting to expand the range of meals I offer up to my children for some time now.

Whilst they enjoy all the things most children of their age do; burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, wraps etc., I wanted to mix things up a little, so taking confidence from last night’s risotto, I made an easy cheesy frittata, which was at once a) easy b) cheesy and c) tasty.

Whilst some slight grumbling was to be heard, they ate most of it and seemed happy enough.

Not being a natural cook or able to conjure tasty dinners off the top of my head from the store cupboard, the novelty of following a recipe to make something from scratch has not worn off yet. There is something rather fulfilling about seeing people enjoying something you’ve created.

The culinary odyssey continues…

In other news, this tiered lockdown nonsense has me completely baffled as to what is and isn’t allowed and where, how or who you’re allowed to do things with. My boss and I were laughing about the feeling sometimes from within our business of suspecting you’re being shafted, but unsure by who from where or how. Sound familiar.

From amidst the contradictory advice, guidance and laws, wouldn’t it be refreshing to have some genuine honesty or contrition from politicians? Something along the lines of…..”we’re sorry for what you’re going through, but we’re desperately trying to balance the health of a nation against an economy that is basically on its knees. It’s really difficult, but please bear with us. In the meantime, the best thing you can do is be nice to each other and wear a mask that covers your mouth AND nose (it's really not that hard). Oh, also, we’ve cancelled Brexit. It was a massive mistake and trying to deal with all that is the last thing we need right now.”

Hey, a fella can dream….
