Cyclist on the lane from Stinchcombe Common

I admit there is a deal of processing gone into this one, because the lane was very dim and shadowed, while the low Sun gave intense highlights to the tree canopy. But it has produced what I would call a pleasingly painterly portrait of this cyclist, who hurtled past us as we walked up from Leaf and Ground.

The 8km brisk march around the golf course which covers the common was even more energetic when Janet decided the signpost indicating a viewpoint actually indicated the footpath. A hundred yards in and what felt like five miles down, we decided to turn back and mountaineer back up to the common.

It was good to get out; the weather forecast promises the sort of weather that leads to binge watching tv programmes, but we've managed so far to stay reasonably well by getting as much exercise and daylight as we can. We've booked several NT visits for next week, and covid being what it is we won't even be doing the tea-rooms... oh, the horror.
