Naptime

John looks like he is reading, but if you look closely his phone is actually about to slip out of his hand onto the floor and he is actually asleep. As is Spike, tired out by his exertions in getting used to such things as indoor living and has claimed prime position on the couch.  He is actually trained to jump on the couch as part of his cocaine sniffing duties so we've decided not to try to change that. I hasten to add that he would find no cocaine hidden in our couch. It is, however,  proving to be quite a challenge to teach him that he cannot sit in my lap!

John and I are also tired. I have learned during the last two months that extreme anxiety followed by extreme relief can be exhausting! In a good way.....

We were going to spring for a celebratory dinner of Rosso's delicious fried chicken tonight despite a rather ominous silence from the loser. Since he is known to be a very poor loser, it remains to be seen what he tries to do next....just as well since we discovered that Rosso's isn't open on Sunday.

Apparently posting a picture from the newspaper violates Blipfoto copyright laws, so instead I will describe the scene as Joe, Kamala, and their spouses on a stage, clasped hands raised, masks in place,  before a crowd of drive-in admirers honking their horns in approval. What a sane and sensible way during times of covid to celebrate the victory of a consummate politician, known for his compassion and ability to negotiate with those of of differing opinions, and the first woman to occupy the office of Vice President of the United States...who also happens to be black. For the first time in a long time I am proud to be an American....
