Dresses complete!

After much fiddling with tiny seams and top stitching that refused to sit in the right place, after three hours I finally finished them! I also managed to get another bolero finished but with 4ply wool and lots of stitches  for the wrap around that seems to be taking far more time than I would like. I want to get all four boleros complete and the ballet skirts by the end of the weekend so I can box them up prettily and into the post on Monday!
In the meantime I need to make a card for mum's birthday next week and get that posted by the weekend, so that will be a job for tomorrow.
Then it's on to the Christmas cake making which really must be done next week! Time is marching on and not enough hours in the day right now!
The postman delivered a lovely brown envelope today from the taxman; a long awaited tax rebate! This will mean a trip to Stanhope tomorrow to deposit it into the bank. The tax office were adamant they couldn't pay it directly into out bank, so yet more waiting for us! I guess that means they keep the funds just a little bit longer to make them interest, despite the fact they've already had it for 18 months! They certainly don't work as fast when it's in our favour and not theirs!
It was a beautiful day, cold, only 3°, but with wall to wall sunshine. Such an improvement on the greyness of late. It was a joy working in the sunshine all day with no artificial light required! The hens made the most of a dry day, scratching about rather than trying to shelter from the gales and rain.
Half way through the current lockdown?
