HEAVENS ABOVE

Hubby and I decided to walk up Hampsfell today to the Hospice.  For those that don't know this not a hospice as in a medical building but a small hut for walkers to rest in.

I haven't been up there for about 3 years.  We walked up from Hubby's Allotment.  I've never been good at walking uphill and boy did my knees know it.  Still I made it.  3 stiles to get over.  Now why do they make these stiles so that the first step is so high that you're almost doing a ballet dance to reach it!!???

Still it was a lovely walk.  Quite a few people going up there but not too many, about 6 once we got there.  There were quite a few more going up as we were coming down.

You can see all around you, right down to Arnside,  Grange, over to Cartmel, High Newton, the Lake District Fells.  It is stunning.

I also found quite a few fungi as well, some bright red ones too.  Possibly Scarlet Waxcaps!!??

We then just came back, had a quick look at Hubby's allotment then went home for lunch.

A lovely morning.  Hope you like the collage and extras.

So pleased we  can meet family at Christmas but we do just need to be careful what we all do.  We're still going to be a very small household over just 2 days instead of 10 days but that's OK.  I do so hope everyone else follows the rules and don't have 3, 4 or more households meeting up as that way the virus will become very active again, it thrives on human contact.

Thank you so much for all your comments, stars and hearts - all very much appreciated.
