Silver birches

In winter Xena gets more bored as with the shorter and colder days she is spending more time indoors. During summer the doors are open all day and she runs in and out and seems to be more active. Because she is bored she is chewing her bed - she has destroyed two in the last week....not good! So today we had an extra long walk and she met many dogs and played crazy chasing games with another Vizsla and a Rhodesian Ridgeback - she seems to like dogs who are a similar colour to her. I also have mind puzzle games - where treats are hidden and the dog has to work out how to access the food, which she does in minutes. It's a pity that due to lockdown the agility and the scent training classes are cancelled.

I love the silvery barks of the silver birches, especially in winter as they lose their leaves - saw this on my walk today.

When lockdown is lifted on the 2 December (is that 12.01am on the 2nd or 12pm that night - can't find the answer to that) England goes back into a tier system and today they announced which tier we are in. It seems that Tier 2 is the norm now with only a handful of places falling under Tier 1 and the places with worrying cases are Tier 3. Under Tier 2 we cannot mix with another household inside but can meet with up to 6 people outside, which sounds fine to me. Interestingly in all three tiers gyms and hairdressers will remain open - which I agree with, I think they are safer than some supermarkets.

Before you know it the sun has set and it is already dark - I don't like these short days. At least from after Christmas the days will slowly get longer again.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our American blippers!
