Wound up in Wexford

Early mist

The early mist, and overnight frost cleared to give a rather pleasant day.  Early on, Dom and his mate arrived to finally fix our pond - his hi-vis jacket can just be just seen through the mist.

They started attempting to diagnose the problem back in May, but have been unable to cure it with anything less than a total radical reconstruction.  And they've been busy through the summer - we seemed to take rather a low priority for them - I think because taking things apart is so soul destroying.  Anyway, we were in luck this week, as the job they were meant to be doing had to be put on hold, as it was too cold to use concrete.

They did a thorough job - taking the entire top pool apart, finding several places where we could have been losing water.  They then replaced the pond liner with fresh stuff, and rebuilt the pool and rill.  Some hours, and several cups of coffee later, the job was done.  It obviously looks different to this picture, but in many ways it now looks more natural - photo to follow, probably tomorrow if the weather is good enough.  And hopefully it is now fixed - at least for as long as we are here.
