What a dull ol' day

but got to make the most of it, and make the most of it I did. Breakfast, then dropped down to Mum's, She'd eaten her porridge, then she makes her bed,  while her bread is toasting. You'd think she had a bus to catch ... She has'nt. I offered to take Indie for a walk, we set off doing a lap of Knighton heath. It was very mucky underfoot, Sibelco have been doing some exploratory drilling on the heathland across from their open clay mining site. Indie sunk to her belly in a sludge so i trod a little more carefully than normal, I had wellies on but did'nt want them filled. The tree trunks, oak, birch, & alder, look fabulous with the bright browns of the bracken. Plenty of beautiful lichens, deer prints, fungi, & gert big puddles. This grass is only in this one spot of the heath. I love the way it floats on the water. Indie had a quick dip in the pond, only up to her belly, she's not a fan of swimming, that must be the collie part of her genetics, then we head home. A quick coffee with Mum, then back to base & Mr Happy. It's really mild so I headed up to the allotment to finish off what I started yesterday. Gooseberry bushes pruned, I treated them & the blackcurrant bushes to a generous dollop of well rotted farmyard manure. Cut down the raspberry canes, fed them & the rhubarb crowns with dung, washed all the manure sacks out, hung them over bamboo canes to drain. Lunch time.
The new battery, (always good to carry a spare) has arrived from Germany for the Canon camera. Jobs nearly finished on the allotment, then I will have to go walkabout with what could be my Lumix replacement.

Veggie & bean soup with garlic bread tonight .... then Strictly :-)

Have a good weekend Blippers :-)
