Maps galore

I've probably mentioned before that one thing I had in common with my father (and I'm not sure there were that many things...) was a love of maps. Last week, we treated ourselves to some old maps of around here from the NLS website. I think we're on 3 out of the 4 of them. The choosing was fun, and so was the receiving, a few days ago. Today we took them down to the framers along the road whom we've used successfully a few times before, and arranged to get them framed. There will have to be a bit of rearrangement on the walls to find places for them all, but that's all part of the fun. They are our Christmas present to ourselves.

Not much else of note. The people who are digging stuff up again on the demolition site were back again, along with what looks like - compared to what used to be here - a mini digger. Mr A had a first go at making stollen, and very nice it is too. Room for improvement - especially as regards a certain crustiness on the outside, but it was exceedingly nice. And we had a tea-time zoom with PM and EK in Helsinki. Always good to catch up with them. They are off on a winter holiday to a cottage in the countryside next week. Sounds wonderful.

Exercise today was a bit of a walk and a bit of time on the spinning bike.
