Textures in our back garden

I completely misunderstood the MonoMonday theme, reading it as a person or object which you admire and ignoring even the pet bit. Which is why today’s shot is of our back garden, a place which we love with its pond, the venerable apple tree, Susan’s studio and our greenhouse, all of which we will miss on moving.

On another note: things you wouldn’t expect to see walking throughMote Park at dusk on a wet winter’s evening, Number 1: a bride and groom, with the bride in her wedding dress hitched up off the mud and with bare shoulders. The groom was more sensibly dressed wearing a tie and a light jacket. And they were accompanied by someone who must have been the best man.

We stopped to offer our congratulations and ask when the wedding was. The answer further surprised us: three months ago. They didn’t seem to want to stop to explain why all this was happening three months after the event. So we let them go on into the gathering murk. It didn’t seem right to ask them to pose for a blip opportunity.

Thanks to Carolinav for hosting MonoMonday. My entry won’t trouble the judges.
