Boysenberry

My mother-in-law had green fingers and in her garden at the farm her specialty was boysenberries. Every December we could pick bucket loads and she also froze enough to last the rest of the year.

Under our care the vines have long since died but we have been trying to resurrect them. After several failed attempts we have this year covered them with netting as the main problem seems to be birds (probably bower birds) picking off any new shoots.
So far we have produced less than a dozen but hopefully next year we will get a proper crop.

Up in Blackheath for a couple of nights. It's cool, wet and misty.
