Windmill 'De Volksvriend', Liessel

'Liessel' sounds like a girl's name, a very pretty girl and very pretty name.
I have been here before, but the weather was so grey I ended up shooting the windmill in the Acht district in Eindhoven instead.

There was a window of about an hour, and I think I was very fortunate to have been able to drive down here before everything got covered up again.  Yes, it was Christmas Eve, but The Netherlands has been very quiet.  It is Lockdown Day 10, and it has been very sobering to know that the virulent strain of COVID-19 has reached this country through the UK.  Fabulous, huh?  Whether or not countries agree with the facts, our world has shrunk considerably, so that the actions of a few travellers from South Africa have had consequences for the UK, and the behaviour of a couple of folks from there have drastically affected us here.  Our numbers continue to rise, although not any more as quickly as two weeks ago, and the 'R' is still too much above the '1'.

On a lighter note, a second much smaller order of our Xmas cards made it through the mail and were sent on their merry way today.  Never mind if they'll be late; 'late' is always better than 'never'.

Another development today, according to the news -- A Brexit deal has been reached!  Unbelievable!  Both sides say it looks good and should benefit either side.  The devil is in the details, though, and I can't wait until more of those become public.  Who'd ever thought it would all come down to fishing rights?  'Thanks for all the fish!'... hahaha!

I wish you all a SAFE Christmas, most of all.  If there ever has been a good time to be thankful, it is now.  Have a good, long weekend!
