Christmas Day

I had a few tears today. First when my good friend G , who hasn’t seen her mum properly since March is in a care home told me a care worker in the home tested positive for Covid yesterday so the half hour outdoor meeting was cancelled. She’s had a sh*t year on so many levels and I feel so sorry for her not just today.

Then for some reason listening to old nostalgic songs on R2 - family favourites , especially when Puff the Magic Dragon, White Horses and Morningtown Ride came on :(

Took dog a walk down by the gang’s house with one pressie each was good to feel the excitement . Home to prepare the food, get Mum and have some chat. Was doing some preparation when the gang arrived with our presents and we had a half hour exchanging gifts and having a laugh. Too short really. Our decision to keep it safe for mum sake what with a vaccine on the horizon. Some of her fellow residents in the sheltered housing are staying home - we can do it later.

The meal was fine, trifle was tasty and mum surprised up by picking up Carcassone pretty quickly and won a game !!
