Life in Sunny Dubai

... good for up to fifty years!

G was up super early and made tea. I don't know why I agreed to a 7 am start!! Anyway, the guys arrived and set to straight away. They didn't say anything about having a clean space to start the day. Oh well! We know it would have helped.

Today's job is to fill in the hole, tile, grout, clean and finish. All in 9 hours. They wanted to tackle the flaking on their ceiling in four areas but I can't take that much disruption so close to new year's day so I said we'd let them know when we're ready in January.

The guys were true to their word. The tiles were on by the time they went to lunch and everything was back in the bathroom by the end of the day. They even got rid of all the mess they created themselves! I am impressed. The last time we had a major renovation job was in 2012 and the team who did that didn't use modern, time-saving tools.

We stayed home this evening. Too tired. G visited Pauline in the morning and the other big news of the day is finally getting the net on the screen for the living room window fixed. The guys were able to do it for us! It's only taken 8 1/2 years to get around to it! The weather is pleasant enough to have the windows open throughout the day.
