Out with the old.. in with the better!

We woke to everything looking very frosty outside. It hadnt snowed but there must have been a heavy hail storm as everywhere had a thick coating of frozen hail which was quite treacherous underfoot. But it was otherwise a nice day, cold but no wind and sun forecast. So we donned thick boots and set off up to the sea wall and on alongside the marsh and Walney Channel. The sky was blue and it was a beautiful day, even though we did have to walk carefully on the way out.  The sun melted quite a lot of ice by the time we turned back home.

So, we limp out of a year that 12 months ago we could never have imagined. Not  being allowed to visit friends or have them visit us. Having to wear masks when we go into shops (those shops that are still open!) Etc etc

So, like most folk tonight we are celebrating NewYears Eve at home just M and Fletch and  me. New Years Eve has always been the main night for parties and weve always celebrated it with friends, a good meal and first footing of course!
But., maybe it's the champagne or the music of Jools Hootenanny but I'm feel quite happy and positive tonight.  Yes it's been a year of uncertainty,  anxiety and disappointment but we are fit and healthy and that is the main thing.

Happy New Yeat everyone
Stay safe and well

Blip is the first Camellia of the season. Perfect yesterday but the frost got to it. Not perfect but.. that's been 2020 !
