Happy New Year

I sat and looked back through the photos for 2020. What a year it's been!
Last January 1st the  Blip was of these primula....and here they are still flowering . I bought them in March 2019 and never expected them to last more than  a few months.
A great example of resilience. Something we ll need over the next few months!

A sunny day and we planned to do a walk we hadnt done since before lockdown up by the Red River..  no wider than a beck ( stream) but a pleasant walk out of town. The sun felt quite warm but the pavements still in the shade were white with ice and we had to walk carefully. We kept to the sunny side of the street where the ice had melted and walked on grassy verges when we could.
As we suspected, the path by the Red River was busy ... and also very icy  but we walked along the grassy banking. We only went as far as the bridge as the path beyond looked white with ice. There were quite a few people striding along there but maybe they had non slip boots and maybe never broken a bone! ( once you've fallen and cracked ribs, as we both have,  you tend to be more cautious)
The sky was a deep blue and I took a few photos with the little Panasonic.. but unfortunately had pressed the video setting so..no good!
Ah well, a nice  long walk and as always, good to be outdoors!

Wishing everyone the best for 2021.

Thank you for the stars and comments . They are greatly appreciated
