Broken Limb

Very, very cold out today - the snow from yesterday had frozen solid. It was noisy and crunchy out walking! It was rather nice to be out in the sun though.

In the woods this stump of a branch was catching the light - and it caught my eye. Fascinated by the textures in the surfaces of the break - probably best seen in large.

I also thought the giant oak tree (extra) looked magnificent in the winter sun, standing proud in the field with snow around. Great blue sky too.
