A damp Mrs Blackbird #22

We had an interrupted night.....that evolved into a lazy morning. Hub felt a bit off in the night, but after some tablets and another few hours sleep he was ok when we woke. Cornflakes and tea for breakfast whilst watching the news, lots of flood warnings aound.....it has poured down all night and all day today.

I went downstairs to do some much needed cleaning......windows, dusting, hoovering, kitchen floor, laundry. Poor Mrs Bb looked rather soggy this morning, not much in the way of food left in the bowl either....been to wet to go out and fill it!! Hub decided to stay out of the way, lounging upstairs, catching up on a couple of programmes he had recorded.

Once Id finished my cleanathon, I jumped i. the shower, then made us some lunch, which I took upstairs. A coffee and a sausage & brown sauce barmcake each, which we ate sat on the bed ;-) by which time we were wathcing horse racing ;-/

Hub got up proper after lunch and came downstairs.......we did a bit of the jigsaw, just the difficult sky and tree tops to do now, but its slow going!

I had to venture out to Asda, had a click & collect slot 3-4. We were aware that the road we would normally use was flooded under the bridge, so went the longer route, collected the groceries, then couldnt resist a quick look to see just how flooded it actually was. Some idiot was stuck under the bridge, water over the sills of the car, hazards flashing, with several onlookers!! I turned left and went back the other way. Unloaded the shopping, took a quick photo of the front garden as our little flower bed looked more like a pond...its in extras, with another similar shot taken an hour ago!!

Hub was on the phone when I got back. It was the District Nurses confirming they would be coming to do his injections for 5 days from Friday. He's been ok today, just very tired which is the norm, eaten well though. Roast chicken, chips peas and gravy for dinner this evening, following by rice pudding with a dollop of raspberry jam.......and a lemon and sultana pancake later on ;-) Ive got a chocolate panatonne in a tin, think I might turn it into a choclate & sultana bread & butter pudd tomorrow......one of hubs favs!

We noticed it had started to snow around 8.30..... didnt dream it would stick after so much rain, but it is, see second extra!

Im feeling quite tired after a busy day, hubs just gone up......so think thats it for now.

Stay safe all......
