Bluebird Day

In skiing terminology, a bluebird day refers to a perfect sunny day with blue skies after a night of snow. Today was just that (if we could pretend we were skiing) - perfectly sunny without a cloud in the sky after yesterday's snowfall. There was still plenty of snow around, and the ponds were all frozen and some paths were icy and slippery when walking on them. I realised that wellies were not the best choice for today's walk!

I had a typical busy Monday morning, doing laundry, planning meals for the week, then shopping for the meals and packing all the groceries away - after cleaning the vegetable drawers in the fridge, they can get manky so quickly. I finally had lunch at about 2.30pm and the garden was still bathed in sunshine and because of the reflection off the snow everything looked so bright and lovely.

Xena loved playing in the snow, she tries to eat it if I throw it up in the air.

Tonight is another zoom camera club meeting, we have a talk by a wildlife photographer which should be interesting. I need to submit images for a themed competition next week, the subject is people and I don't quite know whether that means portraits or street scenes of people - maybe it means both?
