Raindrops

What I want to know is, where are the whiskery kittens when you need 'em. Brown paper packages went out with the ark, and copper kettles need cleaning all the time. So, we are left with raindrops, and seeing that there is not a rose in sight, I've gone for the leaf of the Canna Lily.

They breed cannas for the lovely colours in the leaf these days - the flower is almost an after thought - thank goodness really. Because the flowers on this particular Canna are a bright, in your face, orange, which really does clash with all the lovely reds, pinks, maroons and such in the leaves. They say colours don't clash in nature - but they haven't seen my Canna lilies.

From all this you may gather that it's raining today - lovely soft gentle rain that Shakespeare talks about. Somewhat amazingly it is the very tailest end of the vast and vicious category 4 storm that is currently lashing the Pilbara in Western Australia. This will give you an idea of the size of this thing, because the Pilbara would have to be a good 2 and a half thousand kilometres from Adelaide, as the crow flies.
