Five geese

'One, two, three, four five
Once I nearly caught a goose alive'

Confessions of a failed gun dog...

A bright morning, so we could enjoy a walk in the woods without rain coats. Xena loves chasing squirrels and today at the pond she was chasing ducks - it's the gun dog in her, but despite being one of the fastest dogs alive she never catches anything which almost makes me think that she does not want to, because I doubt she would know what to do with it once she had caught something!

Back home to a pile of ironing and by now it had started raining. It has been a wet and miserable winter but at least I can know notice that the days are longer, gives us some hope for the spring to come. However, from Sunday we are forecast to experience very cold weather and snow.

We have new neighbours who moved in a few days ago, and today I received a lovely card in our post box from them introducing themselves. They have a Beagle and a Frenchie which the postman and delivery drivers will be relieved about as the previous tenants had two very aggressive German Shepherds that scared off anyone walking past! If it was not a lockdown I would invite them over for a drink, we will have to do that when we are able to one day.
