Not an autumn evening...

'On a withered branch', said Matsuo Basho some three hundred and forty years ago, 'a crow is perched; autumn evening'. Of course, he said it in a Japanese Haiku and I'm not able to give it to you in its original kanji.

A weather front has turned the clock back, and it's winter time once more. The winds are building and, although we're unlikely to see any eastern beastliness over here, it's gone. very cold. Happy we got our walk in first.

I had a lot of fun with this shot. The crow is ok as far as it goes, but I liked the skeletal branches it's perched on. I've been playing with various replacement skies, but this is the original; bland but not entirely fake.

Thank you so much for your love on yesterday's hare shot!

Yes, Janet is always right. (for a given value of always, or maybe of right)
