Winter sunshine

Made for a perfect morning to walk. Through the lower woods of the St Ives Estate bordering Low Park seen here looking back towards the village, with just a dusting of snow and a bit of sparkle. We were accompanied by a Robin for a while and then on the edge of the main car park there was a lovely little tree full of catkins where someone has placed some bird feeders. Not seen it before as it is a path we rarely use and it was full of small tits and a Nuthatch enjoying the bounty.

Walked around Betty’s Wood and then back through the estate to get a takeaway coffee. A quick walk around Coppice Pond to feed the wildfowl, where we saw friend H doing the same. Haven’t seen her for quite a while. The far side of the pond was the only place we encountered ice on the path, no doubt due to foot fall other than that it was good that all the mud was hard.

A great mornings walk with stunning blue skies.

We’re providing the church quiz tonight , that’s what you get for winning last week!
