Sheffield on the Mediterranean...

We have two olive trees in the garden, in large wooden tubs.  They are tough little trees; their only need, really, is for me to shake off any snow that engulfs them during the winter, so that branches don't break.

Last autumn there were some tiny black olives on both of them, too small to think of picking, so I left them alone. Now they're looking bigger, a strange sight in a Northern garden in February.  I'll be investigating...

Meanwhile, those olives and today's intermittent moments of sunshine have definitely lifted my mood.  And now it's nearly time for the weekly Beginners' Greek class on Zoom: more Mediterranean glimpses...
