Desperately seeking

Finished!

For the past 18 days we've been at the holiday lodge doing a revamp of the kitchen.

For those that don't know, the wood-look vinyl had started peeling from the cabinet doors around the cooker and had become completely unstuck from the dishwasher. 2 years ago our Visit Britain Inspector told us to replace the cabinets. Gulp!

At that time we experimented painting the pelmets cream to match the tiles. It worked. Now things were getting worse with the 16 year-old cabinets. It was a choice of:- replacing the whole kitchen, replacing the cabinet doors, or stripping off the vinyl and hand-painting the MDF doors.

Having lost over £1K last night on March and April bookings I was so pleased we opted to spent £100 on the special primer and colour mixed paint. Our time has cost us nothing!

I have to say, our local council have given us support which compensated us for last spring and winter bookings, which was just as well as we had revamped both bathrooms in February, not knowing we would soon be closed down.

Looking at Before in Extras and After in today's blip, there isn't much difference in the overall look but, in reality we are pleased with the more modern, fresh look. Amber Nook is ready for it's fist family of the season on 17th April!
