Pink catkins on blue

First and foremost, many thanks for the stars and hearts for yesterday's entry - all very much appreciated.

Today, a slightly earlier start than anticipated, when the roofers who were supposed to come tomorrow arrived at the crack of dawn a day early! Never mind, the job's done, and the roof should remain watertight.

MrM opted for a bike ride this afternoon, while I walked up to the Common and then - to raise my step count - down to the river. Gloriously sunny and spring-like, with a nip in the air on higher ground. On the Common the catkins on a small group of hazel trees looked splendid, swaying gently in the breeze, with a clear blue sky as their backdrop. The pink catkins on the red hazels contrasted nicely with the yellow ones on the other trees in the group.

Yesterday evening we watched the last episode of It's a Sin. Tissues were required! Maybe something a little more cheerful this evening, and a glass of red - it's Friday after all. At least I think it is...
