Around And About

I went out for a beautiful ride with my pal Andrew today. He lives a few miles away and knows loads of byways through Hertfordshire. At this stage we were somewhere in the east of the county and I think this was near Hertford Heath but don't ask me where exactly. With the mist and no sight of the sun I was completely disorientated. I wouldn't be able to find my way back there on my own.

But fairly soon we dropped down to the canal which is familiar territory. A coffee stop at Broxbourne was deserved and then it was back home. 

Before we left the canal tow path we encountered an angler who had hooked a pike and nearly had it landed. But it got away. Not being a fisherman I was quietly cheering on the pike. A few minutes after I got in the rain started. Good timing.
