Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens

Tuesday
We are now safely installed in our Airbnb in Tucson, waiting for our daughter Jen to join us tomorrow morning - flying into Tucson, from Salt Lake City. We weren’t overly impressed with what the hotel was offering for breakfast, so we went out for breakfast in Scottsdale, not far from the Botanical Gardens, where we had reserved a time slot for a visit starting at 10.30. Unfortunately it was a rather cool, somewhat overcast day, and we were glad of the heaters in the patio seating. The botanical gardens were amazing - more extensive and more varied than I had imagined. There were some beautiful pieces of sculpture, including a colored glass installation by Dale Chihuly, and we saw a number of birds, including the Curve-billed thrasher in my collage, and numerous hummingbirds. We left about 2pm to drive down to Tucson. The weather deteriorated further during the afternoon, with thicker clouds, and even some rain. We had a trip to the supermarket to get some basic supplies, then had our dinner, and settled in for a relaxing evening.
I apologise in advance for little commenting this week - we shall most likely be out most of the daytime, and then I don’t like to be too antisocial spending time on my iPad when we’re with family. However your comments and stars are much appreciated!
