Canberra

Canberra was build just over a hundred years ago on a sheep property half way between Melbourne and Sydney. As it was purpose built it is quite unique in many ways and is a very attractive city. The centre piece is an artificial lake where we joined locals and tourists touring along the edge. We had our bikes and did the eastern basin today. Others walked or rode electric scooters. We had morning tea with our friend Kate who lives nearby, within walking distance of Parliament House and other public buildings. This evening she joined us for dinner at our van. She was curious to see a caravan as she hadn’t been in one before.

We had a storm (as you do) so retreated to the camp kitchen to eat. Roast lamb was on the menu tonight and it was delicious.
