Reflections on Good Friday

Jesus hung, crucified
nothing but a crown of thorns on his head,
nails piercing his hands and feet
 
What an image that portrays!
 
He suffered, died alone
I think of nothing but the agony
that must have been
 
Yet he did it for me (and you)
So that we might live
That first Good Friday, long ago
