It is fair to say that our last day full day in Essex didn’t pan out quite as planned.

The day started fine and we were even able to get in a walk through the woods at Galleywood Common. Things turned when Matty complained of a sore tummy and then vomited everywhere.

I got her back to my parents place where she threw up once more, but then settled down and seemed to bounce back pretty damn quick. The resilience and energy of youth needs to be bottled.

Investigation revealed that (unbeknownst to me) she had eaten her body weight in chocolate the day before and ended up paying the price today.

The week has been most welcome and afforded us the opportunity to catch up with our loved ones and enjoy some new scenery. The Eldest has pretty much kept to herself, The Youngest has been mental and m’boy has largely just got on with things and been a little superstar.

His brilliant, inquisitive young mind continues to blow me away, but equally I love the fact that he remains the quintessential little boy who is into sports (he’s particularly enjoyed sitting and watching some rugby with his grandad), nature and cars. He’s continued to talk about what has become known as “Super Car Thursday” and despite the fact that he saw a variety of awesome cars whilst walking my parent’s dog, has lamented the absence of a Ferrari – apparently the one I saw doesn’t count!

Feeling very proud of m’boy and am going to miss his company this week, in particular having supercar manufacturers shouted at me at random intervals.
