Day 383 It's Flower Friday!

Today's FF offering is one of the plants that Mr MC was given to mark his retirement:  I love the colour of the flowers on this ribes sanguineum, or flowering currant to give it its common name.  Many thanks to BikerBear for her continued hosting.

In other news: on the day which is the anniversary of my father-in-law's passing in 2013, we learned this morning the the Duke of Edinburgh had died peacefully in his sleep.  He had, at 99 years old, lived a long and remarkable life, mostly one of duty as he provided support to the Queen as well as being the patron of many charities and championing many causes close to his heart.  Our thoughts are with Her Majesty today, widowed after 73 years of marriage.
