Springtime Aggro

Freedom!!? Well, a little more freedom than we had before now that we don't have to "stay at home" other than for "essential" journeys or exercise. (The Zoe Covid App now reckons that the "R" number in the northeast is 0.1 - the vaccines are doing a great job.) So we ventured on an 8-mile car journey to Plessey Woods for a walk. It was quite busy near the car park but quite honestly that doesn't bother me out of doors and almost everyone was pretty good at social distancing anyway. And once we'd walked about 1/4 mile we were virtually on our own.

By chance I managed this grab shot just by the car park - a couple of male chaffinches were having a barny (at least we're pretty sure they're both male chaffinches - they were moving so quickly it was hard to tell and then they flew off very quickly). So I got this shot within a couple of minutes of leaving the car; I did take some more photos but this one won today's blip place.

Having said that, I'd already taken a potential blip at home first thing - it had been a frosty night and the air was still cold: I liked the way the steam from the boiler vent was lit by the sunlight - so that's in the extra.
