In the woods

Two walks today. First the early walk with the ladies (and one man) well socially distanced on a stunning but heavily frosty start to the day - see extra top left.

After breakfast and a quick shower we headed up to Skipton to make the most of the lovely weather with a short walk through Skipton Castle Woods. I had hoped some of the Ramsons (wild garlic) might be in flower as I remember all the spent plants on our visit last summer. The lower area of the woods - bottom right extra - are covered in the pungent plants but we were a bit early as only a few were in bud.

We climbed up the steps to the higher walking area where Wood anemones took over from the Ramsons with a sprinkling of bluebells amongst them.

I really liked this single backlit anemone so that is my blip for today.

We continued back to the town past the front of the castle and had a coffee all before 12.00pm.

Lovely to walk just a little further afield.

So having walked just over 6 miles this morning I’m not too enthusiastic for much gardening but I might just have a little scout around whilst the weather remains so lovely.
