Carburn and Edworthy Parks

Two little gems in
the city of Calgary
enjoyed in sunshine

~ carliewired

Carburn Park (left side) in Calgary's Fish Creek Provincial Park, is reclaimed land that was once a gravel quarry. The manmade lakes give a place for walkers and cyclists to enjoy. Known for its varied bird life, we were eager to see what the good weather brought. I saw golden eyes and Canada geese today. Tucked into the woods, not 20 feet from the walkway, two does were bedded down under shade trees. L ventured along with her two walking sticks today.

Edworthy Park (right side) is a city park on Calgary's south-west. The Canadian Pacific Railway intersects the park near the Bow River. There are views of the Calgary skyline from the dog park area. I've never seen so many happy dogs in one location. The park features a pedestrian bridge over the Bow River and a stunning hill climb that attracted many today. There are barbeque pits and play areas for children.

Tomorrow, I should be on the road heading west mid morning. It's forecast to be the best day for weather on both sides of the Rockies.
