Sudden Squall

Nothing in the forecast gave us warning of a change in the weather until shortly before the skies began to cloud over and darken. When the front hit, strong winds whipped up waves on the lake followed by driving rain.

Fortunately it blew over quite quickly allowing me time to get out for a photograph before the evening closed. Skies were still dark with black cloud drifting over the sun causing dramatic backlighting of the bare tree branches.

I just had to be careful with the exposure to avoid blowing the highlights.
