Amongst the bluebells

As it was forecast to be a good day my husband and I decided we needed a good walk and headed for one of our favourite walks.  We started at Oakehampton station and walked up onto the edge of Dartmoor with views of various tors before heading back down to Meldon Quarry.  It was the first time we had visited Dartmoor since the recent lockdown and it was lovely to back out here.  Many young lambs were wandering around and we saw our first Wheatears this year. We had lunch by the Red a Ven Brook and then continued down to Meldon Woods where I was delighted to see that the bluebells were looking magnificent.  Sticking to the allocated paths I was quickly snapping the scene.  We continued back to Oakhampton walking past the Castle and along the river.  A lovely days walk.
