An exciting day today. In the morning we went to the market in Lézignan. It was a lovely day, and the market felt like its old self. Stalls piled high with seasonal fruit and vegetables, and crowds of people milling around them. We bought a handful of early cherries for 2 euros (all gone now), yet more strawberries, new season garlic, some swordfish, the ingredients for escalivade, and a container of boles de picolat for lunch.

After lunch we set off for a walk in the hills above Tournissan. S had done some of this walk as part of a much longer one with his walking group last weekend, but I'd never been up there before. It was an interesting, varied walk, including woods, garrigue, a high-tech windvane, wildly different geology, a cave, wooden sculptures of animals, some scrambling, and viewpoints with expansive views over the plain. We met no-one except (twice) a couple of geologists measuring stuff: "C'est bizarre!" we heard one of them say as they gazed, hammers at the ready,  at what to us was an unremarkable looking cliff.

In my blip you can see just part of Tournissan's magnificent avenue of plane trees in the far distance. Stats: 5 km, 200 metres climbing, 2 hours 40 minutes including stops. It's the first walk I've done that was worth getting my walking poles out for since September. Also, if anyone can tell me what the lovely little flower in the extra is, I'd be grateful.

I am also ridiculously excited at the number of times yesterday and today I've opened up my calendar app to add appointments. First up, a haircut by a professional! To be followed by even more thrilling events.
