Founders Day

70 Years ago today the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society operated their first train.   Today we remembered the day and the people who were inspired to rescue the railway from being scrapped.

I was doing some of the catering at Abergynolwyn where today's special terminated.   Welcome sunshine blessed the occasion and a good time was had by all.   Here the double-headed train is departing, watched by a friend who I worked with in the Aber cafe one summer over forty years ago!    Some things change, some things are timeless.
