A time for everything

A walk in the woods

Saturday
Another beautiful day, and with rain in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday, Roger wanted to get the grass cut this morning - it is growing so fast at present. After lunch, we headed up to Germantown Metropark, north of Middletown. We have previously visited the nearby Twin Creek Metropark, but this was our first time to Germantown. We did a total of 7 miles, including a lot of ups and downs, so we got a good work out. Having cut the grass in the morning, and we have quite a bit to cut, Roger was feeling quite tired by the end! We will definitely be back, since there are more trails to explore. There is actually a trail connecting the two parks, and a group from Cincinnati Hikes were doing the whole thing today - 28 miles - must be nuts! The Spring wildflower bloom is past its height, but there were still a variety to be seen, including Fleabane, top left, False Solomon’s seal, centre right, and pink Trillium, lower right. By the time we got home it was past 7.15, so we treated ourselves to a pizza.

Step count today: 14,983
