Three sleeping cygnets

Six cygnets have hatched from the seven eggs in the nest under the bridge over the Water of Leith at Commercial Street. I blipped half of them today on a bird walk with Jack and Katharine. We also observed the urban tern colony at Leith Docks, and the sand martins opposite the Scottish Government building.

As well as birds, our afternoon's entertainment included a visit to the Croft market and refreshments at Jack's house. His garden is looking lovely at the moment.

Earlier in the day I tended my own garden. We have moved all the pots from the yarden to the back in preparation for the arrival of the stone masons tomorrow.

Exercise today: walking (20,473 steps).
