Seasonal Sardines

We had our first sardines of the season! Wandered along the river harbour in the lovely town of Alvor (after an unsuccessful visit to A Rocha), past loads of touristy places till we came to a more local establishment. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole, very Portuguese, experience, ending with a superb, typically Algarvian dessert, made from almonds, carob and figs (all of which we have growing on our Land).

And more art, this has been a very arty few days. Loads of figures scattered around; Mike made friends with one, see extra, who reminded him of a character in Wind in the Willows, see if you can guess which one... (clue: what is she made of?)

Great to have had these days away, and great to come back to our own place, which was looking very lovely in the setting sun. I spent the last light watering everything, and am now looking forward to our own comfy bed...

Gratefuls:
- having a break in such different surroundings
- Mike driving us safely back
- that it felt good to come back home
