Rolling In

I thought it smoke at first, till it spread too fast,
then saw it for what it was: a sea mist rolling in,
drawn up the valley, dispersing and rising high.

Despite the sun, the breeze blew chill, but still
young women shed their sleeves. One bared a shoulder,
was there yet a line?

Tans are running late this cold wet May,
but girls will try, as long as rain's away.

Dartmouth was very busy in today's sunshine, with lots of tourists enjoying the river and shops. The pleasure boats were loaded, and the steam train blew its merry whistle across the river. It was a joy to see people enjoying themselves - mostly unmasked, thank goodness - lapping up the lovely sun's immune-system-building Vitamin D.
