Speechless

Those of you who know me and who know Julie will realise that "speechless" is not often applied to us. Today we went to see Tom Stoddart's wonderful exhibition in the Side Gallery in Newcastle. It is called Extraordinary Women and includes images from many of the conflicts he has photographed during his long career.

We were moved beyond words.

The exhibition is not for the faint hearted but it should be seen. In my opinion Tom is on a par with Don McCullin (whom I inadvertently called Don McLean at one point today).

We had a long discussion with one of the photographers at The Side, discussing how to document demonstrations safely and how to find out when demonstrations are happening.

If you are in striking distance of the North East do go to The Side. You have to book because of Covid and they allow only 6 people in the building at any one time. It runs to June 26th.

We had lunch near the Quayside and a catch up chat once we had found our voices again.
