Haar

An inexplicable decision to go east today saw us on the Cramond foreshore in thick, chilly haar. You can't say it wasn't atmospheric, swirling around and teasing us by breaking to let the sun peep through then closing in again. Only a few steps up the River Almond walkway and we were in lovely warm dappled sun but on the beach it stayed stubbornly misty. This is the causeway out to Cramond Island disappearing into the Forth. I don't know who the dog could be - not Flora who was safely on her lead.

Despite this it was so lovely to be on the beach. It was packed with people braving the weather. I picked up some bits of sea glass. Nothing classic but my first beachcomb for well over a year. We took a picnic and had an icecream.

On the way home we saw long queues for the bridge - hope there hadn't been an accident. We just pootled back on the south side of the river and went straight into the garden where it's a good 22° and very pleasant. Wonder how Edinburgh is faring.
